What is ‘authenticity’ – in relation to what is or is not something authentic? Why would authenticity, in other words, ‘truthfulness’, ‘genuineness’, ‘trustworthiness’ be a feature with which one act, one work is interpreted as positive in relation to some other, negative? In search for the notion of ‘authenticity’, I will also search for authentic devices – from my own experience and my own emotions, to personal mythology and personal framework of misconceptions – so as to find, in a distorted mirror of my own limitations and inhibitions, a reflection of this sought-after credibility, originality, truthfulness, and perhaps eventually reach the notion itself.
